Anatomy of a Precision
Rod End Bearing
Engineered to accommodate angular misalignment and oscillating pivoting while transferring heavy loads.
The Forged Housing (Body)
Precision CNC machined from solid 304 or 316 stainless steel stock. Features a reinforced threaded shank to resist high tension and compression forces.
The Spherical Inner Ring (Ball)
The pivoting heart of the joint. Standardized to 440C Martensitic Stainless Steel and vacuum heat-treated to HRC 58. Extreme hardness prevents galloping and wear.
The Load Race (Liner)
PTFE liners (SA..C series) offer dry, self-lubricating operation. Standard steel-to-steel designs require scheduled lubrication.
Explore Series
Comprehensive standards covering Male/Female threads and Lubricated/Maintenance-Free inner structures.

SA / SI..ES Series
Steel/Steel sliding contact surface requiring lubrication. High loading capacity.

SA / SI..C Series
Maintenance-free structure incorporating PTFE liner permanently bonded to the outer ring.

Metric PHS / POS
Standard metric linkage series featuring bronze race or PTFE composite inserts.

Inch PHSB / POSB
Imperial/inch dimensional configuration widely used in specialized equipment.
Where Stainless Rod Ends
Are Used
LINOX distributes to equipment OEMs worldwide. Our stainless rod end bearings outlast standard chromoly or zinc-plated variants in demanding dynamic environments.

Grade Selection
The housing material dictates your equipment's lifespan. We forge from solid billets of three distinct alloys.
Food / Standard Grade
General-purpose austenitic grade offering excellent resistance to oxidation, high humidity, and standard food-safe cleaning agents without rusting.
Marine / Severe Grade
Molybdenum addition gives massive chloride resistance. Absolutely required for boat rigging, chemical plants, and prolonged salt-spray exposure.
17-4PH / High Load
Heavy duty precipitation-hardened grade achieving extreme tensile strength (~1310 MPa). Specified when burst rating matters more than cost.
Quality & Production
From raw billet forging to final export crating, transparent production monitoring for elite OEM procurement.

Technical FAQ
Answers regarding our spherical tolerances, dimensional standards, and custom threading capabilities.
Difference between Series E and Series K?
Series E follows ISO 12240-4 dim-E and is slightly narrower in the inner ring. Series K follows dim-K, which is broader and commonly features a bronze liner, making it capable of wider articulation angles.
Do you supply 17-4PH inner balls standard?
No, 440C stainless steel is our standard for the spherical inner ring because of its excellent HRC58 hardness. 17-4PH is available upon request for specific high-strength custom aerospace orders.
Can I customize the Thread Pitch?
Absolutely. If your hydraulic cylinder requires an imperial UNF thread on a metric body (or vice versa), we can CNC machine custom thread pitches for direct drop-in replacement.
